Prize winner Mario Adorf - Category "Lifetime Achievement"

Mario Adorf began his acting career in 1954 and it was only three years later that he was able to celebrate his breakthrough with "Nachts, wenn der Teufel kam" (The Devil Strikes at Night). In addition to countless theater engagements, he has since acted in more than 150 films, including "Winnetou", "Die Blechtrommel" (The Tin Drum) and "Rossini".

He has received several awards for his film performances and is a two-time winner of the GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD from HÖRZU. He received these for his performances in 1991 in "Gesellschaftsspiele" (Society Games) and in "Die Kaltenbach-Papiere" (A Fatal Assignment) and his 1994 role in "Der große Bellheim" (The Great Bellheim). In addition to his career as an actor, Mario Adorf is a highly successful author of entertaining tales and stories.

"Mario Adorf is clearly one of the most popular German actors. The audience always tends to like him, whether he plays the villain, the father figure, or the businessman. But his popularity doesn’t stop at acting. Even when he makes an appearance as chanson singer, storyteller, or author, the audience is on his side. We are delighted to honor him for his decades of artistic work," according to the jury of the GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD from HÖRZU.
